This talk presents three recent projects on computer vision and mobile robots for Theme Parks
1. Paintcopter is a drone for doing spray painting. The drone is fitted with a paint arm and a pan-tilt nozzle, and has a paint-power line to a ground station. Results are shown for painting 3D structures.
2. StreetMap is a project on robot localization using a downward-facing camera, and doing mapping and localization from natural ground texture i.e. without modifying the ground with fiducials. Results are shown for localising off tarmac.
3. Feeling Fireworks is a tactile user interface that allows blind and low-vision users to feel vibrational effects on a flexible screen that are meaningful tactile analogs to a visual firework show in the sky.
